Hi all,
I am currently in the USA on the VWP and my 90 days are up at the beginning of Jan 2017. My boyfriend and I have had some serious discussions this trip and we have decided that we are ready and want to get married. I know that it is possible to adjust my status and stay, but I have a few questions about the process.
1) Do we have to submit all the paperwork before my 90 days are up? Or if not, is there further paperwork that has to be completed (does it complicate things)?
2) How long does it take for all the paperwork to be completed and do I have to have my medical submitted at the time of submitting the paperwork or can that be done later? I am worried we have left things too late to complete it all on time.
3) My immigration officer during this visit was not happy with the amount of times I had entered on the WVP and sent me to the 'Secondary Questioning'. I had never encountered any trouble before and was extremely stressed out. I had no trouble though after talking to the second immigration officer and he granted me a full 90 days and as far as I know no restrictions. I just have the usual stamp in my passport.
I know these may be simple questions, but I am pretty stressed out at the thought of doing something wrong and being denied.
Thank you for your time and responses.
