  • How detailed can I get at an infopass meeting? Got an RFE for financial details.

I included what I thought was enough financial details with my original application in April, but yesterday I got an RFE for financial data showing commingling of finances. In retrospect I didn't show a long history with finances, just a month or two's statements - I thought given that we own our house together and our salaries are paid into the one account that we pay our CCs from would be enough, but in retrospect I probably should have shown more history, maybe back to when we moved to the US two years ago.

I called the helpline to find out if there's such a thing as sending too much info (I'm thinking I'll send all bank/credit card/mortgage statements for two years and see how that sits with them) but they told me I need an infopass meeting if I want to discuss anything specific.

I've made an infopass appointment for two weeks time, but I want to set my expectations - will they only answer general questions, or will they be able to see the full detail of my application? Better yet will they go through whatever further documentation I bring to the appointment (eg bank/mortgage statements) and tell me if I'm submitting enough/too much? Can I submit at the infopass appointment or do they answer questions and then I submit separately?

Are you able to provide an image of the RFE? What precisely did they ask for?

I'm at work and the notice is at home, but it said I hadn't provided sufficient evidence of comingling of finances or shared liabilities. At the bottom it gave a general list of things including many items I provided, such as drivers licences, bank/credit card statements, tax filings showing we filed together, bills from same address etc etc.

I'll get a photo when I get home in approx 4 hours.

        From that list, I provided

: Bank statements, including transaction pages from what I remember.
        : Vehicle Insurance
        : Credit card statements
: Two years of join tax returns

So other than sending more of the same going back 28 months since we moved to the US, I'm not sure what else I can give them. That's why I scheduled the Infopass appointment - will they be able to see what I did submit so they can give me an idea of how much more stuff I can submit?

Ok, I understand now what USCIS is asking, but whats not clear is the status of the Petitioner and the status of the beneficiary?
Is this RFE in response to insufficient evidence for the Petition for Immediate Family/Spouse AKA I-130
If USCIS is doubting the valididty of your marriage did you not provide your marriage license?
          To many questions here.

USCIS is not questioning your documentation, they are questioning your marriage?

Hey eh... I don't know if you're familiar with any of this documentation but they're very explicit about what documentation they're looking for. Yes I provided marriage certificate and other documentation, but this whole process in removing conditions based on being married to a USC is simply me proving I'm in a bona fide marriage. The list of documents you provide to do this is very wide ranging... I"m sorry I"m not sure why I need to explain this very basic part of an adjustment of status application on a forum for questions about adjusting status. Either way none of your questions AT ALL relate to my question which is whether an Infopass appointment will be specific or general. I asked on another forum and I got my answer within ten minutes. I suggest before giving advice on this forum you learn a little more about the process (which apparently you've been through? Yet you are so confused about what's happening with mine? Are you just unfamiliar with what an RFE is? Seriously I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here.

I suggest that you re-read all your posted statements you made on this thread. No where did you say that you were a permanent resident or that you were trying to remove conditions. All we had to go on was your muddled statement about providing to much documentation for an infopass appointment. I 'm not an attorney nor do I make claim as to being expert about the process. All I can speak to is about my own experiences and what I'm going through the system. Since you got a response in another forum why not take their advice?

Is this not the adjustment of status forum? Either way, thank you for replying. I'm sorry you didn't understand my post, but the other forum was able to grasp it immediately and give me an answer.
