I am asking this question on the behalf of my wife who has recently been approved for her green card.
She went through the whole interview process and was approved, shortly after she received her welcome notice on September 29 of this year. Today she finally decides to call NCIS in which they informed her the green card was delivered on sept 29 (I find it weird since it's the same day as the welcome notice).
NCIS informs her since it's recorded as "delivered" by USPS, we have to consider it lost and re-apply using i90. She wants to enroll for classes at an University and we have a trip out of the country in March. Thus waiting an extra 6 month for new green card is out of the question.
Figured out we can get a I551 stamp and want to know what are the step in attaining this?
Does she have to reapply i90 wait a month for confirmation, then setup infopass appointment to get the stamp?
Or she can reapply i90 and while it's pending she can get the stamp?
Does she need to do biometrics again with photos?
I look forward to everyone's reply and sorry for the lengthy post.
