  • Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview

    Hi all,

I decided to create an account because i'm worried sick and desperately need some opinion.

    I live in Houston, TX.
    PD: 12/16/2015

02/29/16 my case status online is Case ready to be scheduled for an interview, and since then no further updates. My employment authorization card is expired on 02/26/2017. I called USCIS several times to ask if something is wrong, since i filed my application myself, they all said no more information requested about my case, and my field office is backed up. Last week, a superviser said i'll receive a notice in mail regarding my case, i have not received anything yet.

Does anyone know why USCIS is taking so long to schedule an interview date? Or is it because i did some mistakes filing my case?

Thank you, any advise would help a lot.

The Supervisor is correct, Houston is backed up almost a year. Processing i_485 from 12/04/2015
Part of the reason for the delays was that they were focussing on processing Naturalized Citizen applicants so that these new citizens could vote in the general election.
DOn't worry they will get to you eventually. My application is now 2 years and counting.

      I'm Doomed?

I recently filed in September 2016 and fingerprints have been done...My interview in Houston is ready to be scheduled has of November 3, 2016...I was hoping everything will be good by the summer because I got a job offer for summer 2017 that requires gc..So from this post, I'm assuming I will be waiting at least one year or more, correct?

also..I'm new here, what does it mean when people say my PD, priority date? How do I know what's my PD?

It will appear on your "Notice of Action" 797c and its right next to your receipt date in the upper left side of the notice.
