  • I-485 Background check help!

    Hi guys!
I'm originally from England and I've recently married a US Citizen and am going through the adjustment of status process! My husband and I decided to pay a lawyer to help us with the forms as although they are pretty simple we were nervous about messing them up!
One of the questions was something along the lines of have I ever been charged or arrested for any crime.
I was honest with the lawyer and told her that when I was 14 I got caught shoplifting in a store in the uk it was a £10 lipstick, very minor crime but the police were called to the store they gave me a warning and made me write a letter of apology to the store and as I was underage they said it would be wiped from my record when I turn 18. The lawyer was slightly unsure about it and did not put it on the form but said to mention it in my interview as I will be under oath!
Does anyone have any similar experiences? Did it cause any problems?
I've never had it come up on a work based background check and I have no repeat offenses as that scared me so much!

i got arrested for shoplifting in florida, i mentioned it on my application. since u already didnt mention it. i would bring all the paper work at says ur records has been wiped clean. bring it up before the ask you the yes and no questions. tell them because the records was wiped clean u didnt think u needed to mention it on the application. tell them and bring evidence. u dont need any lawyer. i did my application myself and i got approve.
