  • i485 Memphis field office

I'm living in the Memphis metro area and filed i485, i130, i131 and i765 in Nov 2016.

    PD 11/25/2016
    Notice date: 12/12/2016
    Received receipt via text: 12/12/2016
    Received receipt via mail: 12/19/2016

Does anybody have experience with the Memphis field office?

My immigration lawyer is not really a help,
It took me forever to get the money together to file and then many many months of delay due to the lawyer (missing documents etc. but they didn't inform me). I have all ducks in a row now, and as I already said everything was filed in November. I wonder how long it takes to receive the EAD, I really need my drivers license really bad to get to work (I'm self-employed).
I don't even worry about the length of the actual green card process at the moment, but the EAD so I can get my social and drivers license (DMV in Mississippi).

Any experiences with the Memphis field office?

Received the biometrics appointment letter today. Mystatus at egov.uscis.gov still doesn't work, but I already heard that that may take forever and some couldn't check their status online even after the interview. So I guess I'm giving up on that.

When should I count with the EAD and AP? I saw some received it even before they went to the biometrics appointment, someone else said 1 month after, same person said 60 days from PD.... Which would be the same time. I am confused. I am anxiously awaiting the EAD so I can get my SSN to FINALLY get my DL, which I REALLY need super bad.

If you look at the USCIS processing time on their web site, EAD processing time is 3 months. Also, if you check other people's trackers on this website and other websites, most of the people seem to receive it 60-120 days. You can call after 75 days, but you have to just wait until then, unless you have a documented valid reason to expedite it.

3 months / 60-120 days after what? PD? Receipt/Notice date? Just getting different information from everyone. My overpaid lawyer told me today that I have the biometrics appointment on the 13th, which I already knew - at least they informed me this time.
When I asked what they think how long the EAD processing time is she said 50 to 90 days AFTER the fingerprint date.
Which was completely off he average times most people posted here for AOS due to marriage.
I am lost. I know I should be patient, but my job depends on how fast they process it, that's why I am asking.

https://www.uscis.gov/us-visa-and-im...g-more-75-days I read this but when does the 90-day regulatory timeframe start in the first place? PD or notice date?

Listen immigration process is a process, nobody can fast forward the process for you nor can you.
All you can do is wait for the next step after your biometric appt.
Its 90 days from your priority date or from whenever you received the letter from them saying they got your documents.
If you havent got an answer by the 80th day or so, you call them.
Some are lucky and get theirs quicker than others, which means everybody process is different according to their field office.
          Good luck

I know I can't fast forward it nor push it. But it's a difference between 90 days from the priority date which was Nov 25 and biometrics apt which is Jan 13. I appreciate your answer, and hope I will get the EAD no later then beginning of March then.

How does the process work? I go to the SSA with my EAD and apply for the SSN and then wait until they mail it, or would I get it on the spot?

Thank you so much for the info so far, I really appreciate it!

When you apply for the SSN it takes 2 weeks to get it.
You should call USCIS about your card in February if you did not get it by then
Also remember, holidays season just finished and now the presidential inauguration is approaching so that affects processing times

Okay thank you. My main issue is to get a DL to get to work. I am a self employed consultant (have my ITIN and can legally work as a self employed) but in order to make my income I have to get from A to B. I have a ride that I may lose any day/week - so this is why I am waiting so anxiously. I called the DMV here in North, MS and they said the I-485 receipt MAY be good enough. She can't promise but we can run it and see. At least a light at the end of the tunnel.
