I'm F1 student (I-20/Visa doesn't expire for a good period of time), got married to US citizen, not yet filed for AoS. I'm not continuing my school on this coming Spring. Am I going to be here illegally then? Or would it still be legal since I'm married? Thanks in advance.

If you don't go to school in spring, then probably at the end of semester you will get a letter , they will still give you a chance to continue and extend your i-20. What i mean is you can legally as long as your i 20 doesnt expire and you maintain F1 status. Since you are not applying for AOS, Your status will not change. it will be F1. So even if you are married, but your F1 STATUS is no longer valid then you are illegally staying here

Based on what I was told you I think you will have either 30 days to leave the country or you will have to leave immediately. Marriage without the paper work does not change your status and not going to school invalidates your F-1 or whatever other student status that you are on. You must file the paper work to maintain status or go to school. I would not play with this especially since the change of government right now. Get the paper work done or go back to school or get advice from an immigration attorney..... directors of international programs at schools are not versed and cannot give advice on marriage based immigration questions.
