  • i-864

Hi, my husband printed out the copies of federal income tax return for the year 2015, for the documents for i-864, Since he filed electronically through turbo tax there is only electronic signature and also there is a certificate confirming that he filed the tax return electronically with date, time mentioning on the copy. SO is this enough to show that he filed electronically or he has to write a cover letter//? please let me know. Thank you

    from https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/...i-864instr.pdf:

"You must provide either an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) transcript or a photocopy from your own records of your Federal individual income tax return for the most recent tax year.
    ...
You are not required to have the IRS certify the transcript or photocopy unless specifically instructed to do so by a Government official; a plain transcript or photocopy is acceptable."

Just the photocopy of your return, but read on those instructions to see if you need additional documents.

        Hello,

My wife's income is over the required limit, however I am thinking of filling either I-864A or I-864ez. Can you clarify:
        a. Is it required to submit additional income even the USC income is over the required income?
        b. I currently work in US on H1-B, so do I need to fill out I-864A or I-864ez?

        appreciate your help.

        Thanks!

Why bother and make your paperwork more complicated if your wife's income is sufficient for the application?

Hi?? It;s fine, if it is over the required limit. My husband's income also way over the required limit. Dont have to file for any i864a or i-864ez. Keep it simple!

                tax return 2016

Hi, I submitted our package for AOS on 18th, for tax return we include 2015-2013. At that time 2016 tax filing was not ready? Do you think we have to send 2016?
