  • Waited 2 month after interview

    Hi Guys,

I am located in New York, petitioned for my mother. We have waited for more than 2 month after the interview, and the status of the case still says interview was schedule. I was told by the officer that my I130 was approved, however, couldn't see that information on line. And all we need to do is to wait for the final background check. It has been 2 months, and I am really worried. The interview took place in Long Island, NY. Below are my time lines

    Feb 9, 2016 I 130 and I 485 filed
    Mar 5, 2016 biometrics done
Nov 29,2016 went to the interview.

I have also filed a case inquiry, and I was told to expect a reply on Feb 10,2017 which I didn't yesterday. I am completely lost now. Please help!

Well you will need to instill a little more patience in yourself. These things take much longer, 2 months is wishful thinking. Some people are lucky, while others not so much. We had our interview in January 2016 and we are still waiting. That's 1 year and 1 month if you didn't do the math. We have submitted several inquiries, spoken to several reps at USCIS and no one ever has an answer as to why it might be taking so long. So just relax and be patient, your time will come!
