I know... I just try hard not to think about it. I just hope I get EAD soon so I can work.

Can you track your case online?

My full GC through marriage experience

Hello everyone! My GC came in mail today and I’m super happy! I know i have posted about my interview coming up but I wanted to wait till it’s all settled to share my experience. So first of all, this is my timeline:

                  Green Card timeline

                  December 13th, 2016- got married
                  Feb 1st- sent out paperwork
                  Feb 2nd- paperwork received
Feb 10th- text i-797 confirmation, check cashed
Feb 25th- biometrics apt notice received for March 8th.
Mar 8th- biometrics apt. Took 30mins
May 9th- "the case is ready to be scheduled for interview."
May 1st- "new card is being produced."
May 8th- received EAD card in mail (valid till 4/30/18)
November 21st- Interview notice received (December 21st)
December 21st- Interview at Orlando Field office
                  December 29th- I-130 and I-485 APPROVED!!!!
December 30th- CARD RECEIVED IN MAIL!

Thank God!!! The interview itself was VERY straight forward. We were lucky to have gotten a very laid back officer who didn’t get into much detail about anything. At first he asked us names, dates of birth, where we were born and names of our parents etc because he was making sure that it’s all correct in the paperwork that was already submitted. I would have imagined he would ask me my husband’s info and vice versa bet he asked us our own info. Then he asked to elaborate on where we met, how our relationship established and how my husband proposed in detail. It was very casual as we were explaining everything he said he sees my husband and i get along really well. I think that was the breaking point because as nervous as we were we stayed casual and cracked a couple jokes.
Towards the end of the interview he asked me (the applicant) about 20 “NO” questions. For example, if I’m planning to overthrow the government, if I’m planning on being a spy and kidnapping people. So that was very formal.
After that he asked if we have more evidence to give him along with what was already submitted and 3 to 5 pictures. We had a whole album but he only wanted a few pics to keep. We also gave him my pay stubs, copies of my I-20 forms since I have held multiple F-1 student visas in the past. And also he wanted just the first page of out joint bank account statements (where both of our names are) stating that he “doesn’t need to see our finances” just a proof that we have comingling funds. So for the rest of you, don’t worry if you don’t have much money in your account (because I’ve seen people being worried about that on posts I’ve read.)
We only had oiginals of my pay stubs so we all walked to the copy room and he made copies. I felt bad for not having the copies but he didn’t seem AT ALL that it was hassle for him go do it himself. But I would definitely recommend having copies of everything!

On our way out he didn’t approve me on the spot but just mentioned that he doesn’t see any shortcomings coming our way.

Good luck to everyone still waiting, be patient and things workout eventually! )

                    PD: August 2017
                    BIO: Sep 2017
RFIE: Sep 2017 re Affidavit of support
                    EAD : Nov 2017
Now awaiting interview notice. Seems like the orlando field office has a huge backlog. Just checked there bulleting update and they are currently
processing cases as of Feb 2017. My best bet will maybe about May 2018 before any updates re interview.

Then they gone backwards. Ah well cant do anything but sit tight and wait, I got my EAD/AP Card so that helped. I did my medical on Sept 14th so worst case I may have to do another one if I dont get my interview within a year, but what can ya do lol

                          April 2017 Filer

Hello everyone this forum has been really helpful for me. Just want to know what should I do next because It would be a year now since we filed the forms for my AOS marriage based PD April 27 2017, RFE received May 30 2017. checked status online and it still says the same- ? September 11, 2017, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485? I already have my EAD combo card that would be expired august 31 2018. But this journey has been taking forever. When can I call the field office? Or will that help?

The Orlando field office lists processing times of 13 to 19.5 months. You're getting close to the 13 month mark. Remember, that's the time it takes to process 50% of cases; i.e., your typical case. Since you had a RFE, I would add a month or two to that. I would guess your interview notice should be coming up. For the time being, I would go ahead and start the EAD renewal - just in case. You can always cancel it later.

Do you have an account on my.uscis.gov also? This one gives you more detailed updates. You don't always get notifications but it does update more frequently.

                              All the best.

                                ??????

Update: my case online says cannot provide information. @UScitizenFilingforspouse thabk you for response, yes I have an account at my.uscis.gov it says as of sep 11 2017 we are ready to schedule your interview. I am back in job searching but afraid when prospect employers would ask for my immigration status/ID and would see I have a temporary DL and my EAD is expiring in 4 months. What are the steps on renewing the EAD?
Also I cannot schedule an infopasa ever online, I tried to call the tier 2 immigration officer and they are no help. Its just getting really frustrated. I had few companies called me but was told they would only hire GC holders/USC. (
