        • EAD received 485 Pending

          I came to United States on F1 visa. My wife is Green Card Holder and she filed I-130 in October, 2015 which got Approved in March, 2016. I filed for AOS, I-765 and I-131 in October,2016. I-765 got approved in Jan, 20017 and Figner Print done in November, 2016. I-131 and I-485 is still pending. Now, my question is my EAD has been approved so do i have to continue my F1 Student Visa status or is it okay if i drop my school and continue full time working? i am still waiting for my Interview call. Pleae help me out because i am getting mixed review about this situation. My primary lawyer suggested that i must have to maintain my F1 visa status until i get Interview letter while there are some online forms which says in this situation it is not necessary to maintain F1 status.
          Thank You.

            Oh wow, I hope that's not the norm. It seems it's completely random at the moment who gets an EAD/AP and who not.

              That really is a personal decision. If you drop out of school and your AOS doesn't work out for any reason then you have no fallback immigration status. If you are sure they will be no complications on your case then by all means drop out or register as an instate student next semester.

              • Hi all,

                My case seems to be longer than average and it starts to make me stress out.

                PD: 2/23/17
                Bio done: 3/29/17
                SR: 5/24

                I got nothing yet! No EAD card update no travel card update no interview scheduled no nothing.
                Is this normal? We called last week and was told our case was in normal processing time. But according to this forum here it is not normal. Is there anyone else in the similar situation?

                  We have similar timelines, no RFE & still no EAD or AP. My online case status shows case received & fingerprint fee received. From what I have read on this forum, it seems EAD's are now taking around 100-120 days to process. Good luck

                  PD 2/17/17
                  BIO 3/29

                    It took 106 days from my PD to get my EAD approved so just hang in there. Some people seem to get their EAD approved faster than others‚*it just seems to be the way it is. I felt my case was moving slowly as well and then the day after my EAD was approved I received another notification‚ this time saying my interview was scheduled.

                          When did you receive that update ? I know I filed a month later but might give me estimated time

                            My EAD was approved on 5/3 (delivered 5/11) and my status was updated on my I-485 on 5/4 to Interview scheduled.

                            For my field office (Los Angeles) the current processing date for I-485 is September 10‚ 2016 - so based on that mine is about 3-4 months ahead of schedule‚ so I don't think you can use it as a good estimate.

                            My PD is 1/17 and my interview will be on day 141 for me which is relatively fast. I am sure there are many different factors that affect the processing of cases which may result in wildly varying timeframes for the whole process.

                            In your case you got your EAD in under 90 days and for me‚*mine wasn't even approved until day 106. What I am trying to say is that each case is no doubt somewhat different and this can probably result in varying timeframes for the process.

                              How to understand the given processing time? My case is marriage-base, PD is Feb. 27th, EAD was approved on May 9th. Should I search processing time based on Field Office, Service Center Or National Benefits Center? I'm in South Jersey, so according to the:

                              Field Office (Mount Laurel, NJ), I-485 is processed up to July 17, 2016 (as of March 31, 2017);
                              Service Center (Vermont Service Center), I-130 (U.S. citizen filing for a spouse, parent, or child under 21; there is no I-485 based on marriage processed here) is processed up to Nov. 4th, 2016 (as of March 31, 2017);
                              National Benefits Center, seems like it is only for I-765, which of mine is already approved.

                              Also, the how do you know which your field office is? According to the Office Locator, mine is supposed to be Mount Laurel, but when I had my fingerprint, they scheduled me to Philadelphia. Is the fingerprint location related to field office at all? Or is it just a random location?

                              Thank you!

                                Biometrics appointments are done at Application Support Centers‚ not field offices.

                                I-485 is done at your local field office and the I-130 is done at your service center
