Case Error on egov.uscis.gov/casestatus

Hi I created an account on https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus. I tried to add the receipt number for I-485 but the error below pops out. What could be the problem? I received the receipt via mail on March 6, 2017.

You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:

You are attempting to add a receipt number that does not exist in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again.

Same thing is still happening to me till this moment.

I just checked minutes ago, and still can't add My Receipt numbers and still shows validation errors.

If you just got it recently, all you need is to wait. It usually takes 5-7 days before they update your receipt number on the website.

As stated on the email you received. (If you sent G-1145 with your documents)

If you just got it recently, all you need is to wait. It usually takes 5-7 days before they update your receipt number on the website.

As stated on the email you received. (If you sent G-1145 with your documents)

I received my receipt in mail on March 10th, same error on the case status website. Any update for you yet?

It's been 7 days since I received NOA in mail. Still shows error when I look up my reference number. Is it normal for the website to take this long to update? I'm a little worried now cuz it seems like there were people who were never able to check their process online.

Give it a few weeks (2-3) after you have received your NOA in order to see them in the system. I had spoken to an agent when I first filed and he said that it usually takes the system 30 days to reflect your case number.

It may not work for months unless someone get your case for processing. So until then the number will not work. This was a case for me.

Still receiving an error after 4 months

Not sure if anyone has the same issue as I do. My immigration lawyer filed for i140 at the end end of October 2017. I kept checking but receiving the Validation error until now March 13, 2017

My lawyer called the hotline for me ans was told that the system is having problems. The case status online is a complimentary service. The lawyer assured me that as long as I have the receipt i797, USCIS already received my case and I just have to wait.

Is there anyone else facing the same issue?

You will see your status there. It is said the new one is the up-to-date one!
