Need advice!! Asylum or marriage?
Hi, I send to Texas Service Center an I 485 (for adjusting the status from granted asylum to permanent resident ) on october 2005, went for biometrics, send all the aditonal requested documents, the last status was :
"On January 20, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. It is taking between 850 and 900 days for us to process this kind of case. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case."
Last week, my girlfriend became US citizen.
Anybody knows, if we get married and I apply for I 485, it's going to be faster or not? Are they going to cancel my "asylum" file and go with the "marriage", or not?
