Promotions while waiting for I485

Hey everyone,

Does anyone know what is the policies and rules on getting a promotion while the Green Card is not final?
The I140 and perm are related to a specific position, but as the process overall takes so long there's a chance it will not come through until my company's yearly review at the end of the month and as I was proposed for a promotion I wonder if that will be impacted by the GC process.
