Quick update for the group: I've just received my interview appointment letter. My interview will be on 01/03/2018 at the Seattle, WA office. My PD is 03/03/2017 so it will have been exactly 10 months between my PD and interview.

Hope everyone else is getting the interview letter soon.

Note: the online Case Status tool still says my case is "ready to be scheduled for an interview." I'm guessing it will remain so until I get the green card.

March 2017 filed for mother- still waiting for interview/GC

I am a US citizen, applied for my mother in March 2017, still waiting. I live in the bay area. She is here on Visitor visa.

Mother(from India), age 75+ Applied for i-130, 485, 131. Application sent to USCIS Chicago Lockbox
I-797C Receied date - 3/13/2017
Biometric done - 4/19/2017
RFE received - 5/19/17 [asking for evidence of filing tax return]
RFE documents sent and received - 5/31/17
Since then status for i-485 says - "Our National Benefits Center office will begin working on your case again."
Advance Parole received - 6/12/17

I just got response from my Congressman who inquire about my case to USCIS (I am from Brooklyn NY)



Good Morning Theresa,

Please be advised that according to USCIS records, Ms. Agosto’s I-485 case (MSC179 YYYY X) was received on March 20, 2017 and is currently in the queue to be scheduled for an interview. Currently, the USCIS - New York District Office is completing the processing of I-485 cases that were received on or before February 28, 2017. Thus, this case is within the normal processing time.

Green card approved!

Another quick update for everyone.

My interview was at 1:45pm on Wed 01/03. We arrived at 1:30pm to check it, was given a number and told to wait until our number was called.
When we got to the waiting area, an officer was calling for K3 and our number was K23 so I told my spouse "dang we're gonna be here for 2-3 hours." We did have to wait but only for 50 minutes as they didn't call the numbers in order. It went from K3 to K11 then back to K7 then K17, K22, and K23 (us).

The interviewer officer escorted us back to his office. He was really nice and friendly. He asked for our IDs so we both gave our driver licenses. He then asked for another form of ID so we gave him my spouse's passport and my EAD.

He then went over the forms with us, asking us to confirm everything we had provided on the I-130 and I-485, essentially to make sure we're who we claimed to be and that I don't have any criminal record. This process took like 15 minutes.
Then he asked if we had any new evidence we wanted to provide, at which point I gave him copies of:
- Deed to the house we purchased in November
- Letter from the home insurance company addressed to both of us
- The Christmas card picture we sent out to friends and family with us holding our dog
- Our first water bill
- Health insurance claim history
- Life insurance statement showing my spouse is the beneficiary
- 3 most recent statements of our joint bank account and credit cards.
The officer merely glanced at the documents as we were handing them to him and didn't really look through them. As soon as he saw that we had no more document to give, he immediately said "Well I see no reason to NOT approve your case" without asking any more question. He explained that since we have only been married for less than a year, he could only give us a conditional green card and we'd have to apply to remove the conditions in 2 years. He then said unless there was any major life-changing event (e.g. divorce), provide the same documents and we might not need to come in for the interview next time.

The whole interview took at most 20 minutes, the majority of which was spent on verifying details the I-130 and I-485. Honestly it was a bit boring and not as exciting as I had imagined but I guess that's a good thing.

I've finally reached the finish line after such a long and arduous race! Thanks everyone for your support. For those of you who are still waiting, just be patient -- you're almost there!

How did you get your Congressman to inquire about your case? My husband sent in his materials around the same time as you (late March 2017) and we haven't heard anything yet. We are also in Brooklyn so it would seem we should have some sort of notice. We are also hoping to travel next month and getting nervous about it. Please let me know so I can get my Congressman to inquire, too.

I just got notified this morning that my interview is schedule for February 14, 2018. My PD is 3/7. I am a NYC filer. This is much faster than I was anticipating.
