Hi guys, I tried to raise a service request for I-485 application, but the system didn't allow me to do so, saying it is still within the normal process timing. So I wonder does anyway knows how long one will have to wait before the system allow you to do so.

For example, my field office (Newark) has been showing April 5 2016 for I-485 since Jan 31, 2017. I find it hard to believe they haven't processed a single I-485 application in 3 months! You may therefore want to make an INFOPASS appointment with your field office to understand the accurate date and also figure out what is happening with your case.

If your application type is not listed in the processing time table on our website, our goal is to make a decision on your application within 6 months of filing. Please wait six months before submitting an inquiry.

I-485 it's a about year waiting now!
I'm very knowledgeable about the petitions & have help many filed though I'm not a lawyer. Green card waiting times is not 4 to 6mos now they're very backlogged & it's pushed to year in the meantime you will get a work permit social security # until your interview letter. Especially for states like NYC California where there are alot of ppl filing it's just a waiting process for ex: if you filed a i485 in January 2017 you will not get a letter for interview until late Nov to Dec for your appt.
I hope this help. I know it's frustrating it is what it is now. I'll suggest anyone filing i485 can also file travel document i131 concurrently its free that way

I485 waiting time is about a year!
I forgot to say they will not service request if you're in the processing time which you are. Right now they're up to March 2016 applications and they do go in order so if your are in November you have another 7 mos until to get to your file
