  • How long after the I-140 Approval do the I-485 is Adjudicated?

    Hello everyone,

My I-140 petition has been approved since March 3th 2017.

However, my I-485 is stuck on the "Fingerprint Fee Was Received" state. It has been filed since June 2016, concurrently with my I-140. I saw in the visa bulletin of April that my case (EB3/Skilled Worker/Brazil) is current since my priority date is 09-08-2015.

So why my I-485 is taking so long to be adjudicated? I can only think of being a case of service center overload. But in this case, shouldn't they process the petition based on the priority order? Can anyone share with me your opinions/experiences?

unfortunately there's no fixed time for it

The Visa Bulletin would help you track your I-140, but since you already have that approved that bulletin will not help you.
You need to look at the processing time for the service center you filled your case (https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do) however keep in mind these are reference times only, in my case the processing time was already showing 3 months past my date when I finally got my case approved.

Unfortunately the only answer I have for you is have patience, it will come around, of course if you can make inquiries I would, I think if the date your I-485 was received is before the date the service center is showing in the site I mentioned you can make an inquiry.

    Hang in there

Yeah, I am trying to hang in there but it is really frustrating. I've filed an inquiry last week and they've responded saying that an answer can be expected by April 18th. Let's see what they have to say. Hopefully won't be anything vague like what I've seen in this forum - with people having answers such as "Yeah, your petition are within the expected time limits..."
