  • I'm going to have a stroke from the stress this process causes!

This has been a crazy process. I appreciate all the threads I have read from so many of you. My husband and I filed back in December, but were rejected due to issues with the fee being wrong. We received the package of our package back on the same day my husband had his Biometrics appointment. SO we sent a NEW application with the proper fees on March 08, they received March 15th, but didn't do anything with it until March 24th. They cashed the checks on March 31st. We received the Notice of Action on 4/10/17 in the mail. Have not received Biometrics yet, and then today, we received notice that we needed to check out status. They mailed out a RFI. WHAT THE HELL CAN THIS BE????

Needless to say, it is a stressful as you all know. My husband is going to have a heart attack! The struggle is real! His blood pressure is up, and he is worried about what this is! Please give some insight if you have been through similar situations with your own applications.

    RFE filed

We received the RFE. It was for income not meeting the poverty levels... Easy Fix. My parents became joint sponsors. So we sent that and now we are waiting. My husband received his Biometrics, even after USCIS said they had put our case on hold. The biometrics was mailed 2 days after the date of the RFI. His appointment is on May 02, 2017. So hopefully the EAD documents will come through ASAP!!!!
    Just giving an update!

it takes time. you should make your packet as complete as possible to avoid RFEs. i included everything that was required, with index pages and tabs/markers for easy navigation through the package. anything that i thought required some sort of explanation was accompanied by cover letter. same goes for the correct check amounts. i submitted my AOS in sept2016 and got my EAD/AP in march2017 no RFEs. Hopefully the same goes for I-485

Thank you. We did this as well. The original filing was returned due to the change in fees in December. We refiled and the poverty level had increased, and my income missed the mark by less than $300. But rules are rules I suppose. All in all the process is moving along as well as can be expected. We received notification today they have received the RFE documents and are working on the case again. Hopefully, EAD/AP documents will follow soon.
