          Interview

Houston is very slow!!!! Courts are packed, uscis is backed up!! I filed April 2016 and did my interview April 2017. The mistake I made was I didn't look into it, just gathered evidence and went. I didn't renew my medical, didn't bring my SSN etc...at the end the IO told us she was gonna mail us request for additional documents, which is gonna delay my case. 3 weeks later, still no RFE.

Bring every updated documents so you won't make the mistake I made. Good luck

Thanks for the advice. We renewed our medical at the very end of April. Do you mind telling me what kind of questions they asked during the interview?

                  Interview

I already had an approved I-130 from a 3hr stokes interview, and a termination of proceedings signed by the judge, not sure if that intimidated the IO but he didn't question my marriage at no point. We sat in, she swore me in then quickly jumped to the yes and no question. Asked me how I got arrested and put into removal proceedings and other details concerning that. At the end she asked for evidence, I showed her a copy of our lease, tax return, insurance and a set of pictures, she never asked my wife a single question lol. I was joking with my wife when we got out like why did I even bring you lol, she laughed because the IO never asked her anything. At the end she handed us the letter saying she would mail us a request for more documents, which I'm guessing is the new medical, and a copy of SSN etc...

I'm mad because I would have been approved if i was more prepared, now I'm stuck waiting on a RFE not knowing when the hell it's gonna arrive, so here we go again with the waiting game.

Make sure to bring an updated medical with GONORRHEA, SSN, EAD, PASSPORT, I-94, EVIDENCE (leave, tax return, insurance, photos) and you'll be approved.

                  Good luck to everyone.

Second marriage and getting ready for the grilling! Please help!

                    Hi everyone!

I'm seeking advice and want to hear stories of people with similar experience(s).

I got married to my ex in 2010 and later discovered that she was not who she said she was. Before that, I was on a student visa (M-1) which expired a year and a half prior to the marriage. To cut long story short, I found out that she was living on a stolen identity and the marriage itself was abusive (of which I have police reports to prove). She was later convicted of identity theft, at which time I had already left her, but we were not divorced. During this period, we had filed forms I130, I485 and I765, which were returned to us because of some mistakes (I don't know if she resent them to USCIS without my knowledge and subsequent decision(s) that were made). However, she called Immigration on me, telling them that I had married her to become a citizen. We divorced in 2011 (though I was not there for fear of any connection she might have made to get me arrested by ICE, but I have divorce papers now). I married my current wife in 06, 2016 and we have filed forms I130, I485 and I765 two weeks ago. My wife and I are expecting in June. I'm just concerned about how my previous marriage might affect what may happen next, based on my ex wife's call to Immigration. Please any advice will be greatly appreciated.

                      My Houston interview 5/16/17

                      Hi guys,

So I had my AOS interview done yesterday 5/16/17. It really didn't go as I thought it would. I filed non concurrent. Im adjusting through marriage. Here is my story that will help y'all understand how my interview went and why it went the way it went I suppose.

I entered without inspection back in 1994 when I was 4 yrs old. Back in 1995ish my aunt filed an I-130 for my mom. Under that petition my sisters and I are in it. That I-130 got approved. I don't know the detail as to why we didn't proceed after that approval. But I had the TPS (temporary protection status) for as long as I remember and that is why I have been able to have a job, social security and drivers license.

Fast forward, to 5 years ago when my husband petitioned for me. We went to a lawyer bc when I was little my mom remembers that an officer got me when I was coming to the US but nothing came of it. Well my lawyer found that there was a deportation petition for me from like YEARS ago! So we filed the I-130 fist. That petition got approved back in 2014. For the men's time from then to last year tried to open and close the deportation case through the administration side of immigration. That request was granted and last year in April. Immediately we we went ahead and moved forward with the I-485. We waited a bit over a year to finally get our interview, yesterday.

                      So yesterday:
Appointment was at 8:45 am at the Houston office by Greenspoint. We weren't called in til 9:50am. So make sure you had a good and heavy breakfast. So we got called in, my attorney had mentioned that asides from the copies and originals i had in a nicely well labeled binde he said to make just a packed that is binder clipped in the following order due to that out of all the immigration officers there, there is one who says give me whatever you got. So with that in mind he said put on top 1)8 pictures of us, us and family, friends and what not 2) put our house title, or any property we have jointly 3)joint filed income tax from 2014-2016 and work pays this for 3 months 4)joint bank statements 5) any joint statements (car insurance, health insurance, etc). Well, when we get called in long and behold who would have guessed he odds, we got that one guy our attorney told us about. He was friendly, we swore us in, we gave him our Drivers License. He flipped through my file and asked me who put my file together. At first I didn't understand but he was meaning who filed my applications. I mentioned that the first I-130 was my aunt but then from the current ones i used a lawyer. He said that he would need to take time to understand my file. But then said I see you have stuff so give me whatever you want. I have him that packet I had prepped for him and gave him my new medical (the new form). The dr that I used that was referred to me by my layer did a half assed job on filling in my stuff bc he didn't fill in the dates of all my vaccinations. Thankfully he did include the copy I provided him of all up to date vaccinations. So the officer moved on. Asked me what my social was and asked what my phone number was. Then he asked me 5-8 questions like if I had ever been arrested or took part of an organization, had I ever worked for a prison. I said no to all of them as it is the truth. By this time he hadn't asked my husband anything. He asked if we had children, we said no. He asked me what I did for a living and then he asked my husband. He asked how we met. When he looked at the packet I gave him he made the comment that we gave him more then what he needed but it was okay. However he was still confused about my file history. So he didn't question my marriage just my file and how my petitions were made. So because of that reason he printed out a letter stating that he needs to review it more before making a final decision.

I was really upset because I really thought we would get approved. I mean come on my I-130 was approved and my deportation case had been dismissed. So now here I am trying to stay positive and hoping he understands my file bc after all he is the expert!

I don't meant to discourage any of my fellow Houston filers that have an interview coming up but just be prepared.

If anyone has any suggestions as to what may happen please share with me your thoughts. I will truly appreciate it.

Thank you all and sorry that it was a long post.

                      Best wishes

Mrs I must tell you that your case had to be reviewed just because of the history. But trust me after its been reviewed, you gonna get approved. Just have your finger crossed and stay positive. I know you are courageous already. Trust me you already got it. Just keep on praying for a positive outcome. And thanKS for sharing such experience.

Do not have my first I-94 copy

About I-94: I only have the I-94 from the USCIS website for me which I have print out which shows my recent entry to the US. I have no copy of the original I-94 I came in with.

Is that an issue? How can I find a copy of the original one?

And we are also planning to take the updated I-864 since my wife then unemployed due to being a student has graduated and now has a good paying job.
                              Also taking the updated medical.

                              Anything else you suggest updating?

                              Thanks.
