Adjustment of status(derivative of eb3 greencard holder)

Good day. Im a husband of eb3(greencard holder), im on tourist visa and have valid stay until may 23 2017. I filled for adjustment of status last april 4 2017, and it was received by uscis april 9 2017. How long does it take to received receipt of notice? And am i still lawful to stay after may 23 even without receiving the notice. Thanks

Thanks. And is there any reasons why it took so long to receive my receipt notice. What am i reading on these forum they got theirs on 2-3weeks. Mine is almost a month now
