My wife and I received 2 interview letters with separate dates - Newark office

Hi All,

I applied for I-485 adjustment of status. My processing center is the Newark field office. I received an invite for an interview for next week. Its an I-797 Notice of Action requesting me and my wife to come with a bunch of documents.

Then my wife receives another invite from USCIS for a later date. It also requires both me and my wife to go to the same field office with the same documentation.

I am really confused! Is this usual?

You probably should call uscis to make sure which time is accurate.

I called USCIS and they asked me to make a written confirmation request - they weren't able to explain anything. I also noticed that the 2nd letter is from the Newark field office and is called Form G-56. Is that the equivalent of a Stokes interview? That would be weird as I have not had my first interview yet!
