So I went to SSA office today to apply for SSn and was told it will be delivered 10-12 days. They allowed me to use my husband's last name. My EAD and I-485 was filed using my maiden name. My question is, can I change my maiden name to my husband's last name on my AOS interview which is next month? I read somewhere that you can but just wanna hear from here if anyone has experienced such or has knowledge about it.

Yes you can, just make sure you let the IO know. I tried to change mine last week at the interview but i was told that since I am a male i need a judge approval before they could change or i could change in 3 years at the naturalization.

    Good Luck,

I am also concerned about changing name.

All of my forms have my maiden name but I do want to change it to my husband's. So if I let the Interviewing Officer know, then it will be ok? Or will it prolong the process?

I am worried about the same thing. I submitted my application just last week and I regret not using my married name. Can you let me know if they allow you to change your name to married on your interview? Thank you.

                            Just an update.
Had my interview today and thank God it went well. Our case is approved on the spot. The interview lasted i think less than 10 minutes. She just asked for other supporting docs like bank statements and my husbands new proofs of income since he has a new job. She didnt ask about our relationship because she said she is convinced ours is real. Then asked me a few questions on I-485 and thats it. Told us to check mail in 3 weeks. Also I was able to change my maiden to married name. So my green card will be on my married name.
