you can if you want to . I did that. With asylum you can get a SSN card that looks like PR SSN card, there's no limitation showing permitted to work with DHS authorization anymore.

I contacted with social security administration and they told me there is no point and no need to change status until you get your GC!!

Most cases from August received assigned to MSC. for reuse or biometric appointment, seems to be decided by local.
For NY, it would schedule applicants to take fingerprint. For CA, almost reuse old fingerprint if you have it.

I’m in CA and I filed in august and got a LIN receipt number and had my fingerprints done too

Hi , it normally takes two to three weeks to receive a notice from uscis about receiving your case but lately things slowed down. But now again with new government i think cases are moving. If u don’t hear anything in another week. Call uscis pls

I changed my SS to an unrestricted one.. it helps when you go to the DMV who knows how long will the AOS take.. just bring your asylum letter and your i-94 ... you are entitled to a unrestricted SS card

How can I change it ? My SS issued after asylum approval I didn't apply for one, but DMV refused to issue a DL without EAD card

The person you met at DMV does not know what he or she is doing. When i went with my asylum approval notice they almost didn't want to do it. I asked for the manager and when she came she was still asking for my EAD and i told her my friends with the same approval are getting 8 yrs drivers license and there most be a ways. I had to google and show them before they the accepted. They don't just know.

I send an application to renew my RTD on the 28 of October at TSC and haven't received any letter till date. My green card will be making 20th month this February since i applied at same TSC. Actual finger prints where done in February. TSC is very slow

Green card application will mark 21 months which is still pending and had a last update in February (Finger Prints)

TSC is very very very slow and hoping to get better with the new Biden administration.

I wish I was in Nebraska Service Center then I would have got my GC long back ago. Recently I saw GC application got approved who applied in July 2020.

But TSC is still stuck, approving the March 2018 applications........

i have seen atleast 3 applications from may 2019 that got approved very recently from TSC. Looks like they are working on the backlog. Hope we all get it soon. Good Luck

yes. I know someone get fingerprint in 10/2020, and get GC in the end of January. Start with LIN. But most is MSC

My attorney sent i485 on mid November from California, and still no receipt, more than 2 months, mailed to lockbox support on mid of December, also no answer, tried to call uscis, automated system doesn't connect with agent, any advises pls?
