Because if they can process EAD in about 5 months why they can not process I-485? After all both are cards and almost required same review.
Is it some kind of policy?
They are playing with others' lives. Its been 2 years since my application.
They certainly do not have the same review process.

I-485 requires security review and as well as a complete review of applicant's A-File, which I-765 does not.

That said, I do not believe TSC is deliberately delaying I-485. They had a lot of other workload to balance.

USCIS should have allocated or redistribute asylum based adjustment to other service centers.

Complaining like this is useless. If you want change, write to your congressman and senator, as well as the President and head of DHS.

No amount of work should take 2 or 3 years. I wrote to congressman several times. All they do is just ask from USCIS about case status and give that generic reply that your cases is still under normal processing times. I also wrote to Senator but he never replied back.
Now as you said I will write to President and head of DHS.

Its not the work load . I know people with other 485 cases who applied at the same time or after me at TSC and have their GC's long time ago. Its just they on purpose or under pressure by the government are not prioritizing asylum based GC cases. I know Pendamic pushed back the cases a lot. But tell me one thing if they have so much back log then how come they are able to process the fee which we send with the packet right away. Don't they have delay at that time or the delay just starts after they recieve the money. Its simply BS that they are not taking our category seriously.

What do you think AS6 on your Permanent Residency Card means?
This is NOT correct , a friend of mine has a GC based on asylum case and he traveled and came back without any problems

I totally agree with Sahil728 . I feel the same way.

On top of it, Principal Asylee or Derivative Asylee are already interviewed and thoroughly vetted before they get their status. For I-485, they don't need to be interviewed at all unless they have any issue and background check need not to be done thoroughly as it was done before they get their Asylee status then

WHAT'S THIS DELAY FOR ????? GOD KNOWS ....

I feel like they causing the delay intensionally ...... Looks like someone at the top position doesn't like Asylees

I renewed it at Delanco mvc
                      It depends on the center.
The law will change soon, they will issue DL for undocumented in May.
May I ask how many months they issued you the DL for based on I94?

That is correct. For NJ and NY the new Service center is Chicago

I think it depends on states policy for how long DL lasts. I’m in Washington and renewed it few months ago for 5 years. I had nothing else other than i94 and work permit. The work permit was about to expire though..

Because if we look at USCIS processing times and select Chicago. It does not show that chicago center process asylee cases.
