After few days I received a notice of action from uscis that my fingerprints were applied to the case. I was really surprised and decided to call them . The answer was as usual we are working on the the case when I asked why there is a new notice of action regarding fingerprints, The officer said that 'do not pay attention to it sometime we do this.
I am like many have no choice, but to wait..
Lucky_ is your case an asylum-based I-485 at Texas Service Center if I may ask? How did you get a response (RFE) so quickly?

Yes I am at Texas Service Centre and It's asylum based. RFE was demanded after one year of filling it's early or delayed I can't say. Real depression started after they received my response to RFE and doing nothing further ((

Lucky_ Thanks for the reply. I think you lucked out that they asked for RFE after one year of filing because most people do not hear from them until around two years have passed! I filed mine 14 months ago and have not heard anything from them yet! Did you try to expedite by contacting congress person or by any other method?

          Thanks,
In my case it appeared to work. If it's a co-incidence I don't know but I got RFE two weeks after Ombudsman said they contacted USCIS. But even Ombudsman took 6 months or so to work on my case so I suggest you to do it ASAP and get in line.

I have no reasonable explanation as to why they asked for the new I-693 in one year unless they lost your form or never received it. In any event, the fact that they requested new evidence means that they work on your case. So far, your timeline looks great compared to that of most of us here.

            • Hello guys ???? I am new here. I applied for my asylum case back in June,2017 and my case it's still on pending. Says next step is interview. It's been over 4 years now and the wait time is killing me. I applied by myself I didn't use attorney. In the meantime I got 2 work permits but not a date yet. What should I do ?

              • Hi, everyone.
I was granted asylum in August 2018. Waited around a year and applied for GC in Nov 2019. Have been waiting ever since. In October 2020 got biometrics appointment finally set up after submitting an inquiry about a missing mail (was not able to open case outside normal processing times thing because it simply didn't let me do so on the website). For almost a year now my case is stuck on 'fingerprints relating to your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number SRC **** ***, have been applied to your case'. The website is not letting me submit an outside normal processing times case because according to them, it is normal to wait such a long time.
Contacted an attorney, who said that nothing can be done in my case, the only thing I can do is to wait. I am in Texas service center and I know it sucks big time. What sucks even more is that I recently found out that all the time spent waiting for GC is not being counted towards Citizenship. Which is just devastating. I wonder if they are going to work on fixing this, because it is just simply unbelievable. IMO all the years spent waiting on GC have to be considered when applying for Naturalization. If there is anyone who knows anything about it, or if there is any petitions I can sign, or any new law announcements, please let me know.
I need to travel outside of the US for personal reasons, for a very short period of time. Maybe around 2-3 weeks. Should I apply for I-131 and just go with it? Or should I do something about the GC case, do you think that opening a 'missing mail' case will start moving anything? As far as I got it, I don't need I-131 if I travel with GC in my hands. I am just not sure which route to take - to wait for GC or apply for travel document. I will be seeking another attorney since the one I was in contact with was quite helpless (the good thing is that they didn't even cash my check that I sent to them). Another question that I have is if there is anything in here who used an Emergency Advance Parole? What is considered to be an emergency situation except for a funeral, and what are the timelines on receiving that?
Thank you all who took their time to read my messy post, and God bless all those who waits. I am not losing hope just yet, but I am very close to it.

                  • Hello guys, I just got this notification on my USCIS tracking. I moved from my old place last year and changed address on USCIS website. What do you guys think the notice is? I have sent uscis an email today and they said I’ll get a response within 2 weeks
                    here is my timeline:
                    Got asylum in Jan 2019
applied for green card in Feb 2020
Biometrics got applied in Feb 2020
no update since then until today.

                    • I have the same problem, I have filed on January 2019 (TSC)and my address changed on September 2019! My attorney changed my address at the same time by the mail! After 5 months, I got a letter from USCIS for finger printing with my previous address on February 2020(with a yellow label by post office) .My attorney changed my address again by online! One month ago we got a notification for my wife but I didnt get for myself(about using previous fingerprint)! and then I applied for missing letter online and the USCIS notify me the letter is related to use my previous fingerprint. I thought they did not change my address on file( but change my wife address!) and I applied for changing address online again(after talking to my attorney) and at this time I understood I need a reply by USCIS that confirm they change the address(plus the first confirmation that shows you apply) it may be prolonged 15 days! After 15 days I did not get any confirmation and I apply again online! Tomorrow will be the second 15 days and I did not get any confirmation again!

                      • I have been following this from 2019.Just sharing my time line
                        Applied in Mar 2019 TSC
                        Fingerprints April 2019
Got Interview notice in Aug 2021
Interview done and got approved next day.
Interview had general questions from the I485 form.

I submitted my medical with my application and I took new medical as well in interview thinking that the old one was expired after two year but the guy said they have extended it for 4 years so it was not needed again.

Thankyou guys it was really hard waiting this long but always use to read here to not loose hope.

                        Goodluck Everyone

                              Congratulations !!!

You are one of the lucky one to get processed at TSC as people who filed in 2018 are still waiting. I am really happy for you

                              Just curious
                              1. Are you Principal or Derivative Asylee ? Do you know what was the reason for the interview ?
                              2. Did you expediate the I485 application like senator inquiry or mandamus lawsuit etc., ?
