Asylees, refugees don't need advance parole, adjustment of status based on asylum doesn't have the restrictions other adjustments of status have. your application won't be considered abandoned if you go for a short trip abroad while waiting for AOS, you just need an RTD.

I traveled while my AOS was pending with my RTD, no problem. I just got my approval for my AOS last week.

But if your attorney told you otherwise then idk. Unless you have an inadmissibility issue, but I agree that you should listen to your lawyer's advice, or bring up the questions to them so they can look into it.

Other people's experiences are not more reliable than a professional attorney.

Asked again and mention the following:
An asylee adjustment application is based on his or her asylee status adjusts under INA 209(b). advance parole is necessary when the adjustment of status is based under INA 245(a)

The only document you need is a RTD.

I applied for a new RTD in Feb 2021, still waiting. does anyone has gotten approval for travel documents lately?

I would hope everyone is doing okay. Ofcourse, just a reminder, the pandemic is still raging and you should protect your own respiratory health by getting vaccinated and wearing a medical grade mask especially in the light of the new emerging variant of COVID-19, the Omicron.

I am now happy to report, I am now officially a UNITED STATES CITIZEN, I was NATURALIZED yesterday December 29, 2021. Immediately following the NATURALIZATION OATH CEREMONY, I headed to the United States Postal Service, USPS to apply for new US Passport. I will miss traveling with the US REFUGEE TRAVEL DOCUMENT, FORM I-571 and will frame the current one I presently have.

My PERMANENT RESIDENCY was through ASYLUM BASED ON MEMBERSHIP IN A PARTICULAR SOCIAL GROUP (SEXUAL ORIENTATION) which was granted in FEBRUARY 2017. My citizenship is as a result of MARRIAGE to my husband who is a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES. I have been married since JULY 2016. It is now OFFICIAL, I HAVE COME TO END OF MY IMMIGRATION JOURNEY IN THE UNITED STATES.

Your case will be processed without impact. Just like it does without the expedite request.

Your case has been pending for a while so I would expect some action taken within the next 6 months or so, lacking any security clearance issues. Hopefully sooner.

I didn’t mean to scare you but There is a huge backlog going on with RTD Application.

We have submitted our RTD Application in May 2021 and still waiting for it.

You can try expediting your application and see it can done faster.

By normal processing times, most probably you're not going to get it by March. Try calling USCIS and speaking with a tier 2 officer and explain why you need to expedite your RTD. Make sure you have all the supporting documents ready.

People who are under TSC still waiting since 2018 and 2019 so I don't think TSC touch their hands on 2020. I don't know why it takes that long for the AOS when USCIS already processed our background at the first place.

asylumvn , USCIS is very unpredictable and nobody understands their rationale! There are certainly cases from 2018 pending at the TSC but also I heard people who filed in 2020 and had their cases moving (not sure if they received their card already but their cases were moving like they received RFE etc)

Hello everyone, I applied for RTD on August 2021 for the first time. Does anybody know how long it will take? Also on my RTD application I put asylum granted but later on I got my green card.assuming the officer will see my current status, Will there be any issue? Thanks
