Does anyone have any experience with I485 interviews with the local offices? Are they just go over your form or they will ask about the asylum case again like what we did during the asylum interview?
I know different people have different experiences but some high-level overview will be great!
Thank you so much!

While the officer for sure has the authority to ask questions relating to asylum case, but generally if they had doubt the case should have been referred to the asylum office first.
That can happen, for example, adverse information is discovered before the interview about your asylum case.
That said, it is very rare. The interview should be about your admissibility, not asylum case. If you have any high risk factors like arrest, criminal records or terrorist activity, please hire an attorney.

Thank you so much! I think my case transferred to asylum office in 2020 and just transferred back to a local office, so In this case it should probably be the adjustment question right? if they have question on my asylum case the asylum officer should already schedule interview before release my case back to where I locate? Regardless I think you are right, I should hire a lawyer and also I do have arrest record oversea and I check the i485 arrest box to yes because that’s the reason I apply asylum in the first place.
but your best bet is getting an attorney to review your case and be with you to the interview to make sure they can help you ASAP if there are any issues.
Again, it's unlikely. As long as you are honest, you should be ok.

Officer was cordial, even apologized for the lacked due process with the admissibility situation, and for how this affected my process; it certainly made everything so painfully long; so it was great seeing she was gonna help. She told me she needed to get her supervisor's approval for the case, my file is long.
Anyways, in December she called my attorney to inform him my application has been approved, she apologize again for the unfair treatment of my case, and she told him she was horrified for the things the prior officer (10 years ago) put in there.
Don't be scared is just an opportunity for you to address any issue on your immigration file. I did take my attorney to the interview with me.

So I received an update on my I-485 application today, this is what it says
******On February 26, 2022, we sent a request for additional evidence for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number SRC***********. The request for evidence explains what we need from you. We will not take action on your case until we receive the evidence or the deadline to submit it expires. Please follow the instructions in the request for evidence. If you do not receive your request for additional evidence by March 13, 2022, please go to*******
I am a little concerned because I am not sure what exactly they need. hopefully it's just medical exam, I don"t know. Has anyone here received a similar update? what was requested when you receive the mail?
So this is my timeline
March 2018 Asylum Granted
April 2019 sent I-485 form TSC
February 2022 fingerprints
Jan 20th 2022, application transferred to another service for faster ...
Jan 25th transferred to NBC
Feb 26th 2022 Request for additional evidence
Good evening everyone. So I just received the mail sent by the USCIS "Request for additional evidence" and the only thing requested is to submit a report of medical examination.Fortunately I have already started to do the required exams with a civil surgeon.
You will see attached to this message the screenshot of the 1st page of the letter

I know it has probably been discussed and I am aware of lawyers saying under no circumstances travelling to the home country is a good idea. However, brief (2-3 weeks) travel to the country of prosecution to see family with GC based on Asylum (lgbt). Yes or no?

Specifically for LGBT cases, you most likely won't even face much issues. Of course you might have a hard time if you told USCIS in your asylum case that your family and country men are trying to kill you.

I live in NY, Brooklyn.
I didn’t filed any lawsuit, or expedited method.
I’ve sent bunch of requests regarding my case. Maybe they tired of me????????

horrorstorecom congratulations! May I ask what state do you live in? And also did you use any expedite method (congressman, ombudsman, call to USCIS) or lawsuit (Writ of Mandamus)? I filed my I-485 application around the same time you did. Thanks
