I agree with you. I am curious. How do you know a lot? Were you working for USCIS before?
Most of the time you can find answers by familiarizing with immigration laws, regulations and case laws.
While immigration itself can be confusing and complex at times, most applicants' cases are straightforward and there are patterns to follow.

Hello Experts,
I have got my GC finally - yay!
My parents are very ill in my home country and I wish to visit them.
Since getting a travel document takes 7 months on average, is it wise to get my home country passport and pay a visit? If I do visit my home country with my home country passport, what will be the consequences in the future? Such as US citizenship etc?
Thanks.

There is no issues whatsoever for you to travel using your passport, to any country, after you received LPR status. Period.
However, you do want to be mindful that your travel patterns should not conflict with your asylum case. i.e. if you claim your country's government put you on a control list, it's suspicious why they didn't detain you upon your return. However a LBTQ based individual should be mostly fine especially for a short visit.

I have a question,
My last update in my case is from January 25 when the case was transferred to a field office, since then they have sent me a request for I-693 and they have received it, but the website has not been updated; as the last update was 2 months ago, should I submit an e-request? or continue to wait? Thank you,

When is your I-693 being delivered to USCIS?
If more than 3 weeks passed I would suggest you call USCIS customer support.

If you read the RFE letter carefully, in the first page last para where it says you need to wait 60 days once they receive the RFE for the decision. If you don’t hear anything then you should call them.Last edited by luckycharm4111; 03-20-2022, 06:17 AM.

I suppose you would have got the same format of letter what other people would have got it for I-693 medical.

You do want to contact USCIS around April 16 if USCIS website does not show RFE response received status.
This is to make sure they received it or you resubmit new ones before May 16 deadline and avoid a denial for RFE that is lost in transit.

Hi, did they schedule an interview for you? It’s just I got a letter requesting additional documents and medical. I’m afraid that after sending it to them, they will schedule an interview.
Does anyone have experience with the green card interview?

If you want meaningful advice you should clarify what additional documents they requested.
Generally speaking if you tell the truth and don't have serious defects in your case, an interview should not cause any concern. There is nothing to worry about.
Again, if you have special situations, you should state them.

So, my concern is that will I have an interview after and if so, how the interview usually goes.
Just to be very clear, you, the applicant, are FULLY responsible for each and every answers in your submitted form(s). Period.
Paralegal mistakes is not an excuse. YOU SHOULD ALWAYS CHECK EVERY ANSWER BEFORE YOU SIGN IMMIGRATION FORMS.
That said, you should for sure explain in your RFE about the mistakes and why you didn't catch them. be honest and provide as much details as you can.
You can never predict what will happen in the interview, or whether there will be one at all. However, my suggestion is you get a competent lawyer to accompany you and answer their questions with honesty. As long as you do that, you will have the best chance of getting the case approved.
