I highly doubt that it is regarding your attorney. Call USCIS and ask for details. It seems to me that after they received your birth certificate, they updated your name as it reflects on your birth certificate. Call them.

I am an asylee since Dec 2013, asylum granted by IJ. I-485 received by TSC on Jan 09, 2017, still no news. No RFE, nothing. Online status stays on "Fingerprint fee was received". Biometrics done. Submitted SR last week after the case fell beyond processing times, received e-mail that USCIS is still extensively processing the application and they cannot provide any time frame at this time. Is anyone else in the same boat with me?

      • Hi,
Any idea how long does USCIS updates when they received RFE. USPS delivered a week ago but there is no update from USCIS side that they received RFE. Kinda making me nervous.

          • Hello everyone, Happy Thanksgiving

Last night I check at my online status and my I-485 still was not approved. Few minutes ago, I just follow what I did every morning for the past few months, that is to check my online status, eventhough I know today is a Thanksgiving Holiday...

and turn out, My I-485 application along with my 2 Sons application was approved dated Nov 21, 2018 yesterday!!!, only my Wife is not approved yet. I hope my Wife will get approved soon.

The funny things is, our entire family I-131 for RTD is still not approved yet... I thought usually RTD got issued first before I-458.

We got our asylum approved June 30'2017,
I-485 Finger Print Fee received at NEBRASKA Center in July 5'2018
Notice for Finger Print on July 20'2018
Finger Print appointment on August 7'2018
Green Card for everyone except My Wife approved on November 21'2018 (Check online on Thanksgiving Day November 22'2018)

I am the main applicant for Asylum, Hopefully My Wife I-485 and our entire family RTD will be approved soon.

                  • My experience timeline experience texas center

4/4/2018 my i-485 received by uscis

10/20/2018 rfe sent to me from USCIS "which was a birth certificate"

11/14/2018 rfe response delived by USPS ( birth certificate and new G-28 for my new lawyer)

                    11/15/2018 status update"response for uscis's rfe was received "

11/19/2018 status update " NAME was updated" which i thought was for my new attorney because my name and parents names are the same on both certificate and I-485 form

11/23/2018 I called a customer service to ask about " name updated status" she said that was update on 11/19 but she said since 11/20 she saw that my case was under review status " , but on my uscis account still show " name updated "

Does anybody know how long it takes to get approval since your case is under review after rfe response ?

                      • My I-485 is transferred to an asylum office

                        Hello guys,

I filed Form I-485 in March 2018. I have been following the case online and it stuck with the fingerprint fee update since March 9, 2018. I just created my USCIS account and after entering the case number, I see that the case was already transferred to asylum office on August 07,2018. I am stunned that I never received notifications when the case was updated and I was hoping the case will be approved soon (considering the experience of other applicants). I also have an I-730 application that was similarly transferred to asylum office. I recently moved to a different state and already filed change of address. Anyone having similar incident?

Hi I think we in the same boat
                          Here is our timeline:
                          Feb 2017 asylum approved
March 2018 submitted i485 to Nebraska service center
                          April 2018 application received
                          May 2018 fingerprints done
July 2018 case was transferred to your local office. Week later got notice by mail that they transferred our case to Texas service center to speed the process. We live in NYC. My husband is main applicant . Me and my son depending on his case. Since the transfer didn?t heard anything.

In your situation it was transferred to TSC after local office. So there is nothing to worry about. It's probably workload transfer or other. But if your case is stuck in local office for few months which means you could get interviewed before issue the green card. (Read previous thread for more information. Interviews are very rare)
