I have just reached out to a Tier 2 Officer. I had a pleasure to speak with a very nice lady on the phone. She said that unfortunately, the average waiting time for a GC to be approved is 3 years now.
She has mentioned that the vast majority of applicants with be going through an interview process before getting approved.
I honestly don't even know what to say..

Nobody guarantees Nebraska won't start doing the same thing..

Also remember that the number of years spent while your green card was pending, whether at TSC or NSC, does not count towards your wait time towards citizenship. It is wasted time as TSC would only backdate your green card by one year (your one year as an asylee counts) on the day it was finally approved. The remaining 4 years start counting from the day your green card was approved. Thus, if you're finally approved at TSC in Mar 2022, your eligibility for citizenship would be in March 2026 (Dec 2025 if you take advantage of the 3-month early filing thing). If you're approved by Oct 2020 at NSC, then you could file for citizenship by Oct 2024 (July 2024 the earliest).

Except you are interested in withdrawing your pending application at TSC (and forfeiting the fees), after moving and updating your address, and refiling a new application under your new address at NSC and you could get your green card by October this year vs in March 2022 possibly (from TSC). It is a time vs money decision to make.

Hi everyone
I am a new member, but have been following the posts for long.
i just want to share some updates(I am not sure if they are accurate).
i found a site with some updates on all I485 processing times, I am like you with pending I485 in Texas as well.
the fastest case they processed is for application filed on 30 Sept 2019, and the slowest is for 19 December 2017.
again I am not sure how this is correct, but a friend of mine his case was approved in 7 months in Texas while mine is still pending.
lets hope for the best

Honestly i would like to know about this. Might talk to my lawyer if it is worth changing it to Nebraska. Can’t believe this. One of my cousin fought his case in New York. Same lawyer, same judge. Won asylum year later than me. File his I-485 along with EAD from Indiana. Unfortunately made a mistake in i-485 application. They made him send couple documents to correct it. Approved in exact 10 working days after submission of new docs. How long it took to everything, around 3 months and green card was in his hands. Texted me “i got my card”. I am like okay that was quick, usually they take around 5 months to EAD. He was like “No Dumbo, I am talking about green card, I got my green card”. Felt happy and shocked. Congrats him, Put my phone on speaker right at the moment and punched myself in face but It didn’t change anything.
