Good afternoon everyone,
I am a US citizen and my parents are Canadian citizens. I want to sponsor a green card for them under the "immediate family" category.
I have a few questions regarding the process and any insight on this topic will be appreciated.
1. As Canadians do not require a visa to enter the USA, can I apply for the I-485 adjustment of status for them?
2. My parents were born in India and Pakistan (but hold a Canadian nationality for over 18 years). They don't have a birth certificate and I want to hear about people's experience over how strict the requirements are to submit a birth certificate? When are you able to submit secondary evidence readily?
3. Is it longer to process the green card application if it's done OUTSIDE of the US?
Your insights in these convoluted issues is highly appreciated.
