  • I-864 Affidavit of Support RFE - Need to resubmit tax documents?

    Hi everyone,

I received an RFE with 2 errors listed in the mail today. I found a gap on the application where I forgot to fill in the Sponsor's name on Page 3 which matches Error 1. Error 2 is not valid as we do not have a joint sponsor but I believe it is automatically triggered by Error 1.

Is it necessary to supply all of my supporting financial information again? (It was 150+ pages). 3 years of tax returns, evidence of investment accounts due to current lack of income, job offer letters for job starting in September etc.

Are they able to grab these things from our file or is it better just to suck it up and print and mail everything a second time?

    Thanks for the help!!

    1) Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, was submitted; however, Page 3, Part 4 of the petitioner/sponsor's Form I-864 list someone other than the petitioner/sponsor or Page 3, Part 4 is blank.

Submit a completed and signed Form I-864 for the petitioner/sponsor listed on Form I-864. Also, provide copies of the petitioner/sponsor's most recent Federal income tax returns and all supporting tax documents (W-2s, 1099s, Form 2555 and tax schedules).

    2) Form I-864 Affidavit of Support was submitted from a joint sponsor; however, the names listed on Page 1 and Page 3 are not the same.

Submit a completed and signed Form I-864, from a joint sponsor, provide copies of the most recent Federal income tax returns, all supporting tax documents (W-2s, 1099s, Form 2555, and tax schedules), and evidence of their status as a United States citizen, United States National, or Lawful Permanent Resident.

    Hi,
I can't provide you the exact information with regards to your I-864. Sorry about that. However, I just noticed that plenty are having an RFE already which means that your case is in process.
Would you mind if I ask you, what is your PD?
Because mine is not yet change to "case was received" I'm kind of anxious!
    Thanks so much!
