  • Safe to fly within the states?

    Hello,

I am about to file all of my paperwork (hopefully tomorrow) and my husband and I are going on vacation. Now we are okay either driving from Chicago to Florida or flying there. Now my question is, is it safe for me to fly? We flew to Las Vegas in November of last year but that was before Trump became the president.

Any suggestions? I have my state ID but I am still not sure...

As long as you have a valid photo ID you should be fine.
Just an opinion; Not legal advice.

you're not crossing the US border, you should be fine with the current documents you have - (it is like your journey to your local store, albeit longer )

Right but wasn't there an airline company that actually would check the immigration status right as the people would be boarding the airplane? I think it was Delta Airlines.

As long as you're here legally and taking a domestic flight, I am not sure what problems you think you would have?

I don't think that is true but besides since you filed i-485 and got receipt you are in an authorized stay until it is adjudicated.

I have not filed yet but I will tomorrow or this week. But I see what you mean. I currently have DACA so that may count as an authorized stay/protection from being deported?

You will be ok. You certainly wont be deported for boarding a plane. Your state ID/DL is all the id you will need.

BTW no airlines checks your immigration status for domestic travel.
