Hi Friends, first time here, with some questions.
I'm currently on H-1B, extended once, current one expiring this September. Green card priority date became current and filed I-485 this April, along with EAD and AP, a week after I485 filing, I was let go due to company downsizing.
Spoke with the lawyer and was told just to focus on job search within the 60 days grace period. However, I'd like some advice about my situation, e.g. what happens after 60 days without finding a job, would I be forced to leave the country? Would EAD help in this case if I got it in 2 months? Any way to extend my stay (hopefully till I get my green card). I understand H-1B holders are not supposed to change job within 180 days after 485 filing, but due to the nature of major layoff, would this risk the gc approval in any way?
If I were to transfer my H-1B, how does that affect my GC application?
