  • Rescheduling interview - what can we expect?

The interview data chosen is terrible for us. If we reschedule, what types of delays can we expect on the case? Weeks, months, years? That is, how much later would the interview be scheduled?

not sure what terrible means to you but from everything i have read, heard or seen. You DO NOT reschedule in any circumstances. USCIS is famous for dropping the ball.

I agree. I mean adjusting your status is very important and it should take high priority. And if you do try to reschedule then USCIS might take it as a sign that you might not care as much as you do. But hey I haven't even sent out my application yet so maybe I am wrong. Hopefully you can get this resolved but I agree with azblk.

I am not quite sure what exact consequences are, but based on what the officer at my field office told me, once you reschedule, you will have to start over the waiting.I am not quite sure how true it is, but you probably would want to be very careful about rescheduling.

Not to be a scaremonger there was a thread on here recently where the petitioner and her husband went to field office for interview but it was closed by flooding. There was a notice on the door that directed them to another office if they could make it or the USCIS would automatically reschedule for those that did not make it. He even took a picture of the notice. A few weeks later they received a denial notice in the mail for not showing up at interview
