Bring your biometrics notification paper you got and some form of identification like passport or ID. And get there earlier than the time stated on the notice. You'll fill out a one page form at the office and then you will be given a number and you will wait.

It's a pretty simple process, mine took about 5mins, give your ID and appointment letter to security, he/she assign you a number. Wait for it to be called, the person will then take your Bio and you are done.

Best time to expidte the process

It is unlikely you will get you EAD on time. DL policies are different from state to state with some states accepting i-797 receipt as proof of legal presence and some states do not. You can try to Expedia your EAD on the grounds of severe financial hardship due to job loss that will happen when your H1 expires - but you have to do it now because even expedited EAD's take time.

Doesn't it have to be atleast 75 days of pending application to expedite the process?

so I got there half hour early and I was out within 15 minutes... its no worries I was in and out real quick... i got a question though when that receipt got sign and the appointment where u told u cold use the letter to seek employment

You mean use the paper that notified you of your biometrics appointment which got stamped at the biometrics appointment as your temporary EAD? No or rather, I highly doubt it.

what I've noticed from being in this forum and thru my research is that if u have a proper plan of action and research the type of case u are doing then u don't need a lawyer to do a simple AOS, unless u have a record or what not... that cash u av for that lawyer, SAVE IT... SEEK INFORMATION FIRST THEN DECIDE IF YOU NEED A LAWYER...most of what these lawyers are doing ain't too hard IF u understand what u doing

I called a couple of lawyers and asked some questions. We also got a consultation (free) with a lawyer and she even said that my case is straightforward so we do not need to get a lawyer. As long as you understand what you are reading and double and even triple check everything, you should be fine.
