Hi every1, i sent my docs on october 2016, got fingerprint about 2 months after and social and ead 1 month after that, been on "interview is rdy to be scheduled" since january, i have joint bank checking acc with my wife, about 50 pictures since im not exactly a guy who likes to take pictures but ppl keep telling me i should get more but i think putting more pictures tham that will just upset the interviewer, we filled joint tax returns about 3 months ago only for about 8,000 since she was studying and recently she got a job and i'm now legally permitted to work, so next year we will file way more, we have affidavit of support from her stepfather, been together almost 2 years and been married 1 year and 2 months she recently added me to her health insurrance but funny thing is that i received my card but not a single paper stating both our names, also we live together with theyr parents so we don't pay any lease since theyr parents pay the rent with check and the appartment is under theyr name not ours.

1 of my questions is what will i show the officer as proff for the insurrance if i only got the card and havent received by mail any statement with both our names, is the card enough or should i do something else.

2-will i need more pictures? All the pics i have are really good with all the family members in most of em, birthdays, xmas etc you know inportant dates, also, should i get anything else or is my evidence of marriage good enough?

3- will they provide an interpreter for spanish? I know i read on the website they dont but a guy i know who went to the interview recently told me they provided one for him but hes not rly my friend so im not sure if he lied about that, i know english but id feel alot safer if i listen the question twice and i feel alot better speaking spanish tham english. Also im 1 of those silly ppl who gets nervous even when not guilty, i.e if a few friends go to someones house and the owner says some1 stole his money or something i would get nervous even though obviously i wasnt my hearth will beat like crazy i dont freaking know why :s thats why i would feel a little bit better with an interpreter.

4-i been working with my wife's stepdad since we meet, you know under the table, but now i got the work permit but i haven't ask him for a job letter, should i ask him? He pays cash and i've heard uscis officer ask u for pay checks from job so should i also ask him to pay me with checks?

I think thats all the questions that can come to my head atm, thanks alot everybody.

Here is my little advice for you:

For question 1: Contact your insurance provider to at least get you guys a card the has your names on it.
For question 2: Lots of pictures is good. Don't assume that too much evidences would annoy an immigration officer.
For question 3: I'm not sure that they provide an interpreter for you, MAYBE in a compelling situation. I would advice you get your own interpreter, if you think you would need one.
For question 3: Since you were apparently not authorized to work prior to your DEA, I would advice against giving them any impression that you were working under the table (unauthorized work) before you were approved to work. They might ask you to prove that you were authorized to work during this time period, which could make things a bit more hard for you.

    I hope this helps.

PS: Just try and get paper work that show joint ownership or involvement, just marriage certificate and pictures might not do the **** *.

    Good luck!

Don't lie. Lying to immigration is basically the worst thing you can do immigrationwise, maybe even worse than being convicted of a crime. You are adjusting as the spouse of a US citizen? If so, having been out of status and having worked illegally are all completely irrelevant for the purposes of AOS. Work is work; it doesn't matter if you get paid by cash or check; there is no difference; you need to report the income on your tax returns, and be truthful about it when asked.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

if you tell the immigration officer

If you tell the immigration officer that you worked even for one hour without having A work permit. You will be deported and your case would be closed.
I had a friend who got into that situation and he was arrested for working illegally and deported

Nope, this is absolutely wrong. For immediate relatives, AOS will not be affected one bit. And they will not be deported because they have pending AOS.

BS. Y'all got to stop giving wrong information on here especially he said she said type of thing, just like old saying "No Proof No Glory".

Anyways OP i Told all the truth most of question IO asked me he new the answer so Do Not Lie! IO ask if i worked on my last 17 years and i said yes. Example question i was asked What was your plans when you got here? Why you stay? Have you committed any crime or claim to be us citizen for benefits? yes or no question from your app, parents name if y'all know each other parents, how y'all met? who introduce y'all? who proposed? what your plans for future? do you guys think about kids. I brought two backpacks full of evidence because my lawyer told me too. 3 Binders separated bills on both names, letters, junk mail on my name only, all originals i sent, documents, copy of last month bills banks on both names and 650 photos and IO said good job is always good to bring everything but IO only asked for proof of address and bank account on both names. total 15 minutes conversation and said i will approve your case by the end of the day. i am just wait for security clearance to come back but it seems its clear i will update as soon as i receive and it will update right away you should received a text msg and email notice if you signed up for case status at the uscis website.... As soon as i walked out the building turn my phone back on 30 minutes later it said new card is being produced than next day said approved. So Don't Lie be prepared and take as much evidence you can ask your in-laws to write a affidavit that you are married with there daughter and live with them so you can use as proof of joint residence and for interpreter it all depends in what state you are at but if you need one you should hire one don't expect them to have one. Just relax be patient i know the feeling you get until that one the day i have been on your shoes.

Good Luck!!! Everything is going to be alright!!
