Hello everyone, me (beneficiary) and my husband (petitioner) are going to apply for my GC soon, we arent sure about Income requirements though and have some questions and need some help.
Last year my husband income was $18.000 only and that is what he had registered on his tax returns because it was only in November he got a full time job. 3 weeks ago he got a better job, one that is paying him $29.000 annually, which it'd be enough to support both of us according to the 125% poverty guidelines , but will USCIS have a problem with it since its a recent job? Will they not accept it because he just got this better job? His previous income was $21.000
We do have a plan B, our in-laws. We live with them (household of 4), my father in-law is on disability making $2.000 monthly, but on his last tax return he didnt have income because he worked until April only before going blind but previously he was making $50000 a year.
So my question is, if USCIS doesnt accept my current husband income because it is so recent (would they?), can we add his father's current disability income with it (father in law's only listed my mother in law as a dependent on his tax return) and go over the required income of $30,750?
Im so confused on how they will determine if it is enough or not, if they will take the current income, if they will take my father in law income of last year, or this year and combine it with my husband's income of last year or this year... I have no idea.
Please, if anybody would care to give us some help, we have been delaying it because of this matter!
Also, it'd be smarter just to petition with my husband income for a household of 2 or add my father in law income for a household of 4?
Thank you!!
