I was in removal proceedings back in 2011. Had an approved I-130 on August 2012 then my proceedings were terminated in 2015. Last April 24th, we had our AOS interview, since we had an approved I-130, we really didn't bring a lot of evidence. Just lease, letter from landlord and a few photos. When we handed the photos to IO, he said "So you guys been married for 5 years this is all you have as photos", we told her we had tons but decided to print a selected few. I mean we already had an approved I-130 so we didn't wanna waste money printing 200 photos. Anyways, at the conclusion of the interview, she said she would send us a request for more documents since I didn't have my updated medical, SSN etc... we asked her how long, she said "a few days"
Since then, nothing showed up in the mail. I went to an infopass today and I was told the IO said to wait 30 to 60 days, she'll send something in the email. Did she forget about our file? Now we're sh **** * bricks, literally. Why is it taking so long? Is it because we didn't bring a lotta evidence? I've read people being handed the request for new medical etc right at the interview, or within a week after. Why is mine dragging out so LONG?
Has anybody been through this?
