Please help me!! I've been married to a citizen for 4 years now. in 2014 I received my contingent green. and and I have since applied for the permanent card. I received the continent because at the time we were only married for almost a year. After applying for the permanent card I was given a letter that lasted for a year and allowed us to travel. that letter has since expired. Three months before it expired I received a RFE which I promptly replied to. I only recently received a response that the file is being reviewed and I should get a response in 90 days. I now have a stamp in my passport which allows me to work and keep driving. This stamp is valid for 9 more months. My wife as always wants to go away and I'm a bit on eggshells because I don't want any issues or confusion with customs when I come back. It's incredible how quickly I received my temporary green card and how long the process to receive the permanent card is taking. When we applied in August 2013 I had my EAC in September , and appointment for the green card in January and the green card in February. it's been almost 1.5 years now waiting for the permanent card. All and every assistance and opinion is appreciated.

What's your question? It seems that you got everything figured out.

If you are thinking of naturalizing, you can apply now, as you should be eligible (you are eligible to apply starting 90 days before reaching 3 years of continuous residence). Applying for naturalization can help speed up your Removal of Conditions application.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

      Hello again
The question is can I travel with the stamp in my passport which expires in 9 months. Also it is a very good idea to apply for naturalization. Can I do this without having a permanent resident card? My contingent residence card expired in 2016 and I travelled with the letter that extended it for one year. that letter has expired and I have the stamp in my passport now. According to the guidelines I have been married to my citizen wife for 3 years and we do live together

Yes you can travel. Also you file your N400. That will force uscis to adjudicate you i-751

Apply for the N400 Naturalization, you are more than qualify to apply. There is no crime in having multiple application with USCIS. Also if your passport is stamped, you can travel....Good luck

thanks for the advice. It's amazing how obvious it is to just file for naturalization. Sometimes you just need to hear what you are thinking from someone else. Thanks again
