Adjustment of Status and EAD

Morning all. I was wondering if anyone can help with some info on a couple of things.

First is how long does it normally take to be called out for an interview? I submitted my form I-485 form in May of 2016 with my EAD. My EAD got approved in July of that year and The last notice I received on the I-485 was to go see a civil surgeon to get some medical checkups done back in March 2017. I have completed that and My case status does confirm that they received the information as of April 5th and I'm currently just curious on whats the hold up on the interview.

2nd is I filed to get my EAD renewed a few weeks ago. It got rejected because I used an old form style to file my renewal. I fixed that a couple of weeks ago and resubmitted. However, My work permit expires today and I have yet to receive anything form USCIS. Will I receive a notice from them that the renewal has been approved? Of course this will not be necessary if I had been called for the interview and gotten approved.

I will really appreciate answers from all you ladies and gentlemen.

An AOS-based EAD (category C9) is automatically extended for 180 days after the expiration date of the EAD as long as you applied for renewal. Once you get the receipt for the renewal filing, you will be able to use that along with the expired EAD to work.
