My husband (Mexican citizen...current DACA recipient) and I were married in 2010 and have four beautiful children together. For the past 7.5 years almost, we have been working to get everything together to file for his green card. On 7/5/17, I sent his
I-130/I-485/I-765 with all necessary documents and photos and proof and $1760.00 filing fee to the Chicago Lockbox via UPS ground shipping. I received an email from UPS on 7/6/17 that our package had been delivered and signed for at the mailing dock. I know that these things can take awhile (except for my sister in law apparently: her PD was 11/17/16 and her 485 approval and mailing of GC was 6/21/17...in the St. Louis field office which is really behind). Unfortunately, I forgot to include the G-1145 to be updated via text or email (I will definitely sign up for those alerts once we get receipts).
My question is this: How long did some of you wait to receive a receipt for your documents from USCIS? When we did my husband's DACA the last 2 times and his 131 in January, it didn't seem this long, but maybe we weren't as anxious about those filings. We are on day 11 since I know that the documents were received at the Dearborn address in Chicago, and we check our mail religiously (though I can't say that I have that much confidence in our mail carrier). My other question is this: Can I change the mailing address to my work address without changing my husband's physical address on his application?
