  • Can I travel out of the country after green card approved but still pending asylum ?

    Hello everyone,
My marriage green card was finally approved and I have my 2 years green card in hand now, YAY!.
I still have a pending Asylum application with the USCIS. No initial interview have been scheduled.
I sent a withdrawal letter to the USCIS demanding that my asylum application should be withdrawn because I already have my green card through marriage.
I am planning to go on a trip abroad( Not to my home country) with my wife and I will like to know if there is any reason I could not be admitted when I return to the US? Is there anything I should be aware of before traveling abroad?
    Thank you for your inputs.

I believe your asylum claim automatically terminated when you got a green card. You are good to go.

Hi there, I have the exact same case as you but the difference I want to go back to my home country to visit. Did you have any issue coming back to the US ? Please let me know.

As a former asylee I can tell you don't go to COP.
If you abandoned asylum in favor of marriage (or some other form) CG, then your asylum claim is no longer relevant. Some overzealous CBP officer may decide to quiz you extensively upon entry and/or send you to secondary but I wouldn't worry about it. Wanna make your life easier? Get Global Entry.
If you got GC via asylum, see first sentence!

Excuse my ignorance but what you mean by Get Global Entry ? I withdrew my asylum case once I got the GC through employment so do you recommend going back home to visit ?
