  • I-693 RFE for gonorrhea but parents are not in US

    Hi,
I had applied for my parent's green card by concurrently filing I-485 and I-130 (along with I-484, I-693, G325A, I-131 etc). My parents were in US when I filed the papers (middle of Sept 2016), then we got the Advanced Parole and now they are back in Nepal.

Now, we have an RFE for gonorrhea testing because USCIS changed the rule:

The problem is my parents are back in Nepal and I have to reply the RFE by August 17, 2017. We have to either submit a new I-693 or the Civil Surgeon can add an annotation to the existing I-693. I didn't get a copy of the old I-693 from USCIS along with the RFE nor do I know what tests were done when we filed it. I am going to visit the clinic from where we got the I-693 and ask them to add a remark to the old I-693 form (Section 5.c) about gonorrhea testing and seal and send it. Is that a a good option?

    - How do I ask for more time with USCIS? My parents can't come to US to have everything ready by August 17.
    - Can I have the test done in Nepal? I think the equivalent form for medical examination outside of US is DS-3025. Can I submit that instead of I-693?

    - How do I make an appointment with a USCIS officer in Newark (zip code 07094) to ask for more time? I tried USCIS website but it didn't show any appointments available.

    Thanks in advance.
