Hello all! So I had my interview this Monday and when we went we didn't we know that my husband had to speak perfect English. so luckily we found an interpreter while we were there. anyways my husbands lawyer showed up without notice and we thought it was going to help us. Well our interview with me included lasted maybe 10-15 mins. basic questions like where did you meet? where did he propose? where do you live? your husbands full name? and when he asked me about where my husband was born he seemed little ticked off. his emotions showed. but I didn't think anything of it until after. anyways he asked me to follow him where he later left me in the waiting room for 2 hours. I was pacing and my heart was racing I wanted to cry because I thought I ruined it for my husband. we've waited a long time for this interview. and I assumed I ruined it, anyways. so he **** *** me back in the waiting room and he begins to ask my husband questions on where he was born and my husband said El Salvador. and the immigration agent said no and started arguing with him about where he was born. apparently when immigrations customs caught him he had said he was from Mexico.
in his immigration papers they have that we was apparently Mexican. and the officer kept picking at him about it. I honestly feel the officer was very rude. and mean my husband doesn't have any connection from Mexico besides that he had to cross Mexico to get into America. I feel he was very unfair and he even made us sign a document where we didn't get married for benefits of a green card.
has anyone else had the same experience?
btw we haven't had a new update on the case since the interview notice.

Good thing your lawyer was there. At any point, has he/she intervened? I would think that the lawyer would at some point deem the behavior and questions inappropriate. Also never heard of the questioning officer making anyone sign such papers but I am nowhere near my interview date so I might be wrong.

I'm curious, how is your husband eligible for adjustment of status, if he had entered unlawfully (more than once?) and had been subject to expedited removal?
