I decided to write a bit about my experience, since this site/forum was help to me during my waiting period. I am an applicant who applied from Laurel, Maryland, so my document went to Chicago and eventually Baltimore-as my interview was held there.
    My timeline looked like this:
    12/20/2016-Application received by UCIS
    01/26/2017-Biometrics done
    03/30/2017-EAD/Advance prole card received
    06/16/2017-interview notification received
    07/26/2017-Interview -yes it was yesterday!!!!!!!

    Baltimore office:
Interview was for 3:30 pm July 26, 2017-yes that was yesterday!!, as per the instructions of not arriving earlier than 30 mins of the appointment time, we checked in at security at 3:10 pm. We got signed in at the counter near the security chk point and were informed to go in and at a point (stop point), where a checking officer will call you forward and check you in and hand you a calling number.
After we did that and got the number, outrwait was not very long as we were called in exactly at 3:30 pm, by the interviewing officer (IO) who announced my name on the speaker. Our IO was very warm and pleasant, he made me and my husband feel extremely comfortable through the process, he even laughed along with us during our interview about things we fumbled with. He asked my husband 5-6 question and then he asked me about 8-10 questions.
All the questions he asked were directly from the packet information we sent. He did not ask a single question about our relationship before marriage and after. But we were asked if we had any additional documentation to give, which we did -combined bank account statements/credit card statements, house property paper which had both our names, tax papers filed jointly, phone bills-joint account..etc. We had taken things like pictures of our dating period and wedding pics...along with cards ...but he did not ask to see any of it and stated that the additional documents provided were more than enough.
Our entire interview was done in 20mins, at the end of it he very graciously informed us that he was granting our application a "YES" for the green card and he did not have any reservations about our case at all. He asked us if we had any question for him, we asked and clarified a few details for future needs AND then we were done. We were out of the building by 4:15pm in total. By 5:00 pm the same day (45 mins later) I got a notification on my online account -status-July 26, 2017 new card has been ordered.
It has been a process which has lasted 7 months in total from the date of submission to now the green card. I realize everyone’s experience and timeline will be different but patience and trust in the process has to be a part of the waiting game. So STAY POSITIVE-IT WILL ALL HAPPEN.
