  • time between interview notice and the actual interview.

I'm really curious and nervous about this. I'm really crossing my fingers to have my GC at the beginning of November. I filed Dec 2016 at the Chicago office. I was wondering how much time is between (in your experience) between the time you get the notice for your interview and the day you actually have the interview?

I really need to leave the country in Nov and already have my advance parole but would rather have the GC in my hands.

    Thanks,

I filed on the same place, they received my papers on october 14, atill no interview, yours is from december 2 months after me, so expect your interview about 3 months after me, witch hipotetically if they send me the letter tomorrow i would receive it on august 1st and the interview would be september 1st for example, yours would be around december adding 3 months to september, so the fastest ur interview could be is december hipotetically speaking in a world where i get my interview notice tomorrow witch is not happening or most likely not, so no u wont be able to travel with ur gc because even if you get aproved by dec u would get the gc around january after being produced and sent to you, again hipotetically speaking thats the fastest u could get it.

I think theoretically you could get the interview notice as short as 2 weeks, but based on what we have seen here and what I got from my local office, in most cases, they send out interview notice 30 days in advance. I think if you really need to travel, I would suggest you either not book your tickets until 30 days from your returning date, or book flight tickets that you could easily change with low cost.
We just did the same thing for our honeymoon. It was much worth to pay the premium than worry about the potential conflict during the whole time.
