  • Looking for answers for my questions about being scheduled for green card interview

    Hi everyone

    I hope everybody is ok.
    I'm writing from philadelphia ,PA

It's been 8 months but I'm still waiting to be scheduled for interview.

I'd like to know if anybody has the same situation that I have.

    11-30-2016 forms received by USCIS
    03-28-2017 got my ead card
And still waiting to be scheduled for interview

It says fingerprint was received when I check my I-485 receipt number in uscis website.
It says "case was received " for I-130 and card was sent for I-765.

1- Which receipt number of those 3 above do I need to see if Iam scheduled for interview ? Cuz none of them tell me anything about interview. Or do I need another receipt number that I never received?
2- is it normal to wait long like that or I really don't know what to do except waiting.

Can please someone who has experience about the same situation give me some answers..

    Thank You

It is totally frustrating waiting for the interview, you are not alone on this though. I have been waiting for over a year. But it depends on case by case. My suggestion is you called USCIS CSR and ask to speak with a level 2 officer. Well, insist on speaking with a level 2 officer, they usually have most details about your case. You need the i-485 receipt to request for information on your case, the I-130 is for your spouse and that's not yours to ask about, the I-765 is for your EAD. You can also schedule an infopass to your local field office to find out what is going on with your case.

    good luck

      Thank you for your answer
I called them twice , they said that it's all about workload factors. It's totally frustrating as you said. Because I'm tired of checking mailbox. Thank you again

I completely understand how frustrating the process is. I was told by immigration lawyers that the process can take anywhere from 9-12 months, so to be patient as I was wondering to call UCIS during my 6 month of waiting. So, I decided to wait and be patient for a bit longer, and low n behold by the mid of the 6 month i got my notice stating interview scheduled for a date in the 7 month. And after my interview(7 month) I had my green card in my hand within a week. I applied from Maryland, different places could be running on a slightly different timeline, BUT the key is to know its probably going to happen real soon, just hang in there.
