There is nothing that I can help you with other than suggest that you contact your congress representative. Simply go to Google.com and find out who is your congressman/woman based on your zipcode. Contact them or go there personally and explain your situation.

Also you receiving an RFE (request for evidence) caused your PD date to be reset. Not sure how that will affect the interview date since I did not have to go through that.

    • The latest update un my expedite request for my I-131 (travel document) says that the request was completed, and that they sent me a response (I'm assuming via mail). Is this typical? If it is approved, do people usually get that update on the website?

I have a feeling it was rejected, since they have royally messed up my case. About 3 months ago, my I-485 case status showed the case was put on hold while they wait for an RFIE, however I was never sent an RFIE. I was sent a Notice to the Applicant (medical form), which does NOT hold up your case. After 3 months of phone calls with tier 2 officers and case inquiries, everyone kept telling me the case was NOT on hold and that I did not need to submit anything. So I finally got my congressman's office involved, and guess what response they got as to why my EAD/AP is taking so long?? My case is on hold while they wait for the RFIE.

      • Request for initial evidence (60 days!)

        I-485
        I-130
        I-131
        I-765
        all sent on 18th Sept

I am in a similar situation, I was sent a request for initial evidence on the 18th October, I posted the evidence on the 1 November (missed out my wife Student ID) and its is now day 48 since the RFIE. I have called as i just want to know if it has been received, they just say if you have not heard from us after 60 days, then call up.

My point is I don't want to have to wait 2 months just to find out its been lost in the post!

Has anyone had to wait until the end of the 60 day period without hearing back or having an update?

        Thanks

I got the same "service request completed" thing on Friday (for EAD). I tried to research what that means and some people got their approval notice or they got a paper letter saying that their case is still under review.

As for the RFIE, I thought they let you bring it to the interview if you don't submit it in the original paperwork. Maybe contact the ombudsman as well to see what response they get too. I'm not sure what else you can do; I don't know why you got conflicting info. Sorry, hope it works out.

First of all, relax. My PD was 6/5 and I got my work permit over 4 months later and my GC over 5 months. You are 2 months after me so maybe you could expect your work/AP combo card this month and your GC in January. Raising SR's like that will not help. It might actually really get on their nerves. Give these people the chance to work on your case and do not forget that they have other cases that they are working on. People from last year have not heard anything yet so relax. Your time will come.

Hmm this is just speculation but if they didn't tell you outright that your EAD was approved, then it sounds like it will just be a letter saying your case is still under review. I have not bothered to call them again. My online status is still the same right now. Seems like our mail hasn't come yet either. Hang in there.

When i send my applications i did not send a lot of pictures of us or other relationship proofs, we don`t have any join accounts or anything else on both names.
The officer was really nice, he asked as some question about how we meet, if i work (witch was a strange question for me because i don`t have a work permit yet), he asked about my wedding rings, why my husband doesn`t have one and how i feel when we go somewhere and he doesn`t have a wedding ring on his finger, i answer him that he can`t were one because of his job and i don`t have a problem with it because i know his mine and i don`t need him to were a ring to know that. He asked me a lot of question about my husband`s work and kids, how they go to school, when the buss comes etc. She asked me a bunch of question about Romania, my country, about my parents, how they feel about me being here, so far away from them.
He never asked for any other original document beside our ids.
After 40 mins of talking and him checking the papers i send, he asked me the yes and no question and told us he will check again if there will be something else he needs and send as a RFE but he thinks everything its ok, he doesn`t have any doubt our marriage is real and probably i will receive soon my green card.
He also told me when i asked about my work permit that its possible to receive my green card before my work permit.
I am so glad everything went so easy, i almost had a panic attack before interview because we did not had a lot of relationship profs.

I received today in the mail the approval notice for my I-485 application. Status didn't change yet on my online USCIS account.

Now i`m curious to know how much time will take to receive the green card. Does anybody know how much time can take?

So i just called USCIS to ask why the information on the online account are not updating and they just told me that my GC was produced on 12/6 (on my birthday - best present ever ) ) and they gave me a usps tracking number. I checked the usps website and my GC will be here monday 12/11. SO HAPPY!

Regarding my EAD card, the officer told me i will receive a denial because i`ll received the GC before EAD card... when they will try to send it for production they will see i already have a GC.
