My case
Hi to everybody! I’ve just registered here and would like to share my story with you.
We sent the package on the 27, August. (We’re from VA)
I didn’t get the biometrics appointment in a month. In that time it wasn’t wierd to me cs: 1) I didn’t know all details of the process (we filled all documents without lawyer’s help); 2) We got a request for initialial evidence so I thought maybe they’ll make the appointment later on.
We didn’t get a co-sponsor. My husband’s taxes were bad last year, but this year he changed his job so he totally makes like 45k. He required documents for current incomes from both his jobs where it says how many hours he works and how much money he earns. I am really not sure if it’s gonna work out but we read a bunch of forums so people did that and it seems like it makes sense and works! So we sent evidences to USCIS on the 3, November.
Eventually, in a few weeks I got my later - appointment for biometrics for the date - 09/24! I was shocked! My letter got lost and only in 2 months I received it. The most terrible thing that I have an account on the USCIS website and I didn’t have any notifications! I also read that people usually get announcements through the website like: “Biometrics appointment is required”. The only update after sending a marriage case was that they got our evidence.
So, we ask for rescheduling of the biometrics appointment - and I did it on the 14, December.
Right now I’m waiting for respond and my work permit. The process is being very tough. If somebody had the same situation - please let me know or if you just would like to share your opinion it’s also important for me.
Right now I even can not imagine how long we could wait for the work permit and interview. The terms’ve been changed because of biometrics delay.
Wish everyone to pass through these hard times with faith and support from your hubby/wifey.
Thank you in advance.

How did you go about the service request by phone? What did you say. I’m going on 90 days since they received my RFE.

My wife have kids and she’s doing everything all alone, it makes me feel less than a man, for that reason am pleading if there’s a way to expidiate my EAD. She sympathized with me and did the “service request” and gave me the reference number. She said I will hear from them within a week, but it’s the second week now and nothing yet. Sipping coffee and waiting prayerfully 🤪
Filed my service request on dec1st as it was already 105 days, but still no update even after filing a SR. Don’t know what to do but wait🙄

After 129 Days...
I did benefit from this forum so I thought to share the GOOD NEWS.
I received a Letter of Approval in the mail yesterday for my I-765 and I-131. I checked the mail today and received my combo card.
This was after two service requests, one request to expedite and a letter to my congressman.
It took a little over four months and while I can't say for a fact that all of the above is what worked. I believe in the power of something called Prayer of Agreement. The day my husband and I decided to fast from food and pray together regarding this matter was the very day they sent out Notice of Approval.
Talk about God at work!
If you're reading this and you're feeling rather depressed, please don't. God is still in the business of granting us the desires of our hearts according to His will.
All the best!
